At True Heart Yoga & Pilates, our mission is to help you feel stronger, calmer, and more connected – on and off the mat.

We believe that yoga and pilates should feel supportive, not intimidating. Our classes are designed to be clear, accessible, and thoughtfully paced so every student can practice safely and with confidence.

Our Journey

True Heart Yoga & Pilates was born from a deep love of practice and community. When the previous owners of Yoga Journey Studio chose to pass their beloved space forward, Teresa was honored to be entrusted with its continuation.

True Heart now carries that legacy into a new chapter – preserving the sense of warmth and familiarity while expanding offerings in both yoga and pilates. Today, the studio is a cozy home for students seeking mindful movement, personal attention, and a place where they’re truly seen.

Meet Teresa Louizos

Teacher & Founder

Teresa is a passionate yoga instructor with over 10 years of professional experience designing and leading Flow, Hatha, and Raja Vinyasa yoga classes. She is also certified in Pilates Mat.

Through years of study and teaching, Teresa has developed in-depth knowledge of postures, breathing techniques, and the spiritual elements of yoga. In her classes, she blends this with strength and endurance training from Pilates Mat to create balanced, thoughtful practices.

As the Founder of True Heart Yoga & Pilates, Teresa is committed to carrying forward the legacy of Yoga Journey Studio while providing every client with the highest level of service, care, and dedication. She is eager to share her expertise and passion with each student who walks through the door.

Rooted in Douglaston

True Heart Yoga & Pilates is a neighborhood studio at heart. Many of our students live, work, and raise families right here in Douglaston and the surrounding area.

We aim to be more than just a place to take class – we’re building a small, caring community where people feel supported, seen, and welcomed exactly as they are.
